American Electric Technologies Schedules Second Quarter 2007 Earnings Release for Aug. 13 Pre-merger financial information filed

HOUSTON, July 30, 2007— American Electric Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ-CM: AETI), the premium supplier of custom-designed power delivery solutions for the generation, transmission and utilization of energy, announced today that it will release its financial results for the second quarter of 2007 and six months ending June 30, 2007 on Aug. 13, 2007 after the market closes.

This earnings release will be the first issued since the merger of M&I Electric Industries, Inc. and American Access Technologies, Inc., which combined to create American Electric Technologies on May 15, 2007. The company’s financial statements will be a continuation of the historic financial statements of M&I Electric Industries, Inc. and will include the operations of American Access Technologies from May 15, 2007.

The company has filed a Form 8-K/A with the Securities and Exchange Commission today which discloses certain historic financial statements of M&I Electric Industries, Inc. for periods prior to the closing of the merger along with updated pro forma financial information in accordance with SEC requirements.
